The LEADERS Training Academy, funded by The Hilton Foundation, is a groundbreaking initiative designed to harness the potential of those closest to the challenges of reentry. This program focuses on equipping formerly incarcerated individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to lead transformative efforts in their communities. Participants in the academy are organized into three dynamic teams—Integrated Health, Education, and Employment—to address systemic barriers and create meaningful change.

Every cohort of the LEADERS Training Academy consists of individuals with lived experience who are committed to making an impact. These leaders engage in capacity-building activities, community advocacy, and skills training, positioning themselves as powerful voices for progress.

In partnership with the Amity Foundation and through funding from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Growth Opportunities program, LARRP has extended its efforts to justice-involved Transition Age Youth (TAY). This specialized initiative provides comprehensive support to young adults, offering a combination of leadership development, education, training, and mentorship.

Participants in the TAY-focused program receive conflict resolution training and mentoring support tailored to their needs. From weekly group mentoring sessions to monthly one-on-one guidance, this program helps young leaders develop essential life skills, build self-confidence, and pursue equitable career opportunities. Through community engagement, public speaking, and addressing social determinants of health, these young leaders are prepared to overcome barriers and inspire change.
