LARRP Project Archives

LARRP was fortunate to be included in a new program to get recently released people privately funded stimulus stipends. This excellent new program out of the Center for Employment Opportunities, seeks to support individuals who have been released from incarceration in the past 12 months and are unemployed or underemployed. Center for Employment Opportunities has raised millions of dollars to get these much needed stipends to thousands of people in reentry all over the country.

We have been publishing stories from the people who have received this stimulus check in LA in our newsletters and our Blog

L.A. Care Awards $1 Million to Organizations Serving Marginalized Communities during COVID-19 Pandemic

The New Equity and Resilience Initiative will Address Systemic Racism

L.A. Care issued a Statement of Principles on Social Justice and Systemic Racism following the death of George Floyd and, in that statement, it vowed to implement this Equity and Resilience Initiative. The initiative is designed to promote racial justice by investing in the infrastructure of seven trusted grassroots organizations that are led by and serve communities of color. Each organization will receive up to $125,000 and organizational coaching from a capacity building consultant firm.

The Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership (LARRP) is among the grantees.

“We are a network of public and private community stakeholders serving the formerly incarcerated and people with lived experience. These individuals are closest to the issues we’re facing, but are furthest from the power and resources. There was already a disproportionate number of men of color who had it rough even before COVID-19,” said Troy Vaughn, LARRP Co-Founder and Executive Director. “The L.A. Care grant will help us continue our advocacy efforts and provide leadership development and training for some of our returning citizens.”

ReLINC Program
Restoring Lives, Investing, and Networking in Communities

Join our partnership today!

LARRP alongside 211 Los Angeles County is working collaboratively with community service providers to launch the ReLINC Program. This program is a network of diverse community service providers who provide services for our reentry community and their families. In joining the ReLINC network you gain access to the CarelinQ system to, track, refer, share, and manage clients. We are looking for 10 service providers in South Los Angeles and 10 in the Lancaster area to join our network to create a centralized point where all providers are able to see client progress and refer to agencies within the ReLINC network. Along with being a part of this network, we offer support, training, and measure/report on client data and much more to fully assist our reentry community and their families.

If you have further questions or would like to join our partnership please contact Evelyn Garcia at Evelyn@lareentry.org

LARRP, Shields for Families, and LA Voice, amongst other justice partners, are a part of the LA Free the Vote coalition, which aims to make LA County a national leader in systematically offering voter registration to the justice-involved population and encouraging this population to vote.

Recognizing that the justice involved-population sits at the intersection of multiple underserved communities, LA Free the Vote brings an intentional County government focus to proactively outreaching to this population whose voices are important to our civic life.
