Advocacy and Lobbying
April 26th 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Community Partners, Suite C
Are you advocating for policy change?
Want to educate voters and candidates this election season?
Please join us for a legal workshop with Alliance for Justice to learn how your nonprofit can bring the concerns of your community to policy makers and elected officials and help inform and encourage voters safely.
Immigration, fair wages, public transportation, access to healthcare, environmental issues – these are just a few of the critical issues elected officials are considering.
They need to hear the voices of your organization and your community!
In the workshop, you’ll learn relevant laws pertaining to 501(c)(3) organizations to help your organization advocate without worry, including:
• How federal tax law permits lobbying for nonprofits; and
• During this election year, how to remain nonpartisan while:
Educating your community about candidates, and candidates about your community; Encouraging voting; and Supporting or opposing ballot measures
Space is limited; please RSVP here by April 25.
